Overall, the purpose of establishing the Centre for Bioethanol Production and Cooking Technology Promotion (BioFUEL) is to serve as a one-stop-centre for promoting utilisation of bioethanol as an alternate cooking fuel in Tanzania.
The specific objectives of the Bio-FUEL Centre will be:
- To create awareness and disseminate information on bioethanol and other biofuel production and their use as alternative cooking fuels in Tanzania;
- To coordinate and promote research on bioethanol and other biofuel production and utilisation;
- To coordinate technical and advisory services offered by SUA to stakeholders and various clients in issues related to bioethanol and other biofuels as an alternate fuels for cooking in Tanzania, and
- To mobilise resources for supporting continued operations and sustainability of the Centre.
